Sears Canada is closing 59 locations across the country and cut 2,900 jobs as part of the company’s restructuring plan.
In BC, stores in Abbotsford, Kamloops, Creston, Sechelt and Grand Forks will close.
Prince George’s Pine Centre Mall location did not make the list.
Sears Canada obtained creditor protection this morning.
The breakdown includes 20 full-line stores, 14 hometown stores, 10 Sears retail outlets and 15 home stores.
We reached out to Sears Canada but have been told the organization will not comment further on the situation.
