It was a comfortable June when it came to the weather in Prince George according to Environment Canada.
Meteorologist Greg Pearce says the city was right in line when compared to the historical temperature numbers for the month.
“The average maximum for the month was 20.2 degrees and that’s exactly on the normal of 20.2 so we were bang-on there.”
It was a particularly dry month for the northern capital to thanks to a shortage of precipitation.
“We had just 37 millimeters of rain for the month and the normal is 65 so we were just a little over half of what we normally get for June,” says Pearce.
Even though the summer-like conditions have been around for awhile now, the city did experience some dramatic temperature swings during the early part of June.
“The hottest day of the month was on the 7th with Prince George getting to 29 that day and the coldest day was on the 4th of June when Prince George had a low of -1.4,” says Pearce.
The hot temperatures are predicted to stick around well into July with the daytime high possibly getting as warm as 32 degrees by Friday.
