Suspect in mall break-in may have had help stealing vehicle

RCMP say the white Ford F-350 that was driven through an entrance to Pine Centre Mall early yesterday morning was stolen from a BCR Industrial site early Monday morning. They also believe the thief had at least one accomplice.

Surveillance footage obtained from the site shows a light coloured vehicle leaving the area just after the Ford truck drives away. RCMP believe that vehicle dropped the suspect off and then followed the stolen vehicle.

“There might be something there that jars somebody’s memory,” says Corporal Craig Douglass, Media Liaison Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “We know video gets more people to watch and then that might entice them, you never know.”

The suspect in the dramatic break-in has yet to be identified. The individual is believed to be a man, described as wearing a black hoody, dark blue jeans, white and grey shoes and a white mask. RCMP have not yet confirmed whether anything was stolen during the incident.

Douglass says they’re hoping the public will be able to provide more information.

“We’re just trying to put the pieces together and go from there, whatever anybody else may be able to see. There also might be other people with video in the area that maybe has the license plate of that vehicle. It could be anything.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP or CrimeStoppers.
