Fort McMurray residents to assist communities ravaged by BC wildfires

People from Fort McMurray, Alberta are stepping up to help during the recent rash of wildfires in BC.

One man that knows first hand what this tragedy is like is Marty Frost, who was at work Saturday afternoon with a group of friends building a walled 18-foot trailer and filling it with supplies to bring to fire halls and evacuation centres in the province.

The trailer is packed with supplies including 7 tonnes of donations and 700 litres of fuel.

Frost, currently a blaster at Suncor and a former site firefighter, had put out the call for donations on Friday.
By Saturday afternoon the group had to buy discounted lumber from Home Depot to build high walls around the trailer.

Fort McMurray evacuated last spring thanks to a wildfire that ravaged the entire community.
