Volunteer Prince George seeks volunteers for emergency reception centres

The ‘Volunteer City’ is calling on its volunteers.

Volunteer Prince George is coordinating with the City to recruit people to work shifts at the emergency reception centres at CNC and the Northern Sport Centre.

At CNC volunteers are needed 24 hours per day, seven days per week, while the Northern Sports Centre will be operational from 8:00 a.m. to midnight.

The City of Prince George has also set up a special page with up-to-date information for both residents and evacuees from the Cariboo.

Low temperature record falls for Prince George

Prince George recorded its coldest temperature for October 13th this morning (Monday) according to Environment Canada. "Prince George Airport registered a low temperature of minus 9.5, which broke the record of minus 7.0, set in 1993," said Environment Canada Meteorologist Gary Dickinson.
