Prince George is now hosting nearly 3,000 people evacuated due to wildfires in the Cariboo

They’re being billeted with local families and hosted at emergency reception centres
The main centre is at the College of New Caledonia, where evacuees are registered with the Red Cross
But it’s not just people being evacuated
The Prince George Equine Society has been traveling to Williams Lake
They’re dropping off supplies and bringing back horses and other animals
Thanks to local donations, all hosted animals are well supplied with hay and water
Animals and owners will be reunited when the wildfire situation dies down
The number of evacuees – both human and animal – is expected to rise in the coming days
