Salvation Army backpack school supply drive wraps up tomorrow

Tomorrow is the last day for this year’s Salvation Army back to school backpack drive and it looks like the group got a bit lucky this year.

Business Coordinator Bill Glasgow says they are lucky kids don’t need their school supplies quite yet.

“We had a bit of a snafu getting our product from the supplier.” Said Glasgow “We didn’t get them until Tuesday. So we had to delay the actual distribution until Wednesday; we had some volunteers come to the church last night and start packing backpacks. We got 230 backpacks full of supplies on Tuesday, so we had to delay the actual distribution.”

They have 230 backpacks filled with supplies that they will be distributing to families in Prince George on Sept 17th. That is up from 185 backpacks last year.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
