City council to review Free Fare for Clean Air policy at meeting

Prince George City Council meets this evening and is expected to approve four big projects worth over seven million dollars.

Through an alternate approval process, registered voters in the city gave the city the green light to fix things like a Public Works Yard development and new Nechako Riverside Park.

The Ted-x organizers are presenting to Council to ask for $10,000.

The money will help cover equipment, food, stage design and vendors costs.

City Council will also consider changing up its Free Fare for Clean Air Policy.

Each one of these days means about $1,200 in farebox losses.

The city is proposing a single Free Fare for Clean Air day in early June, which would reduce these losses by almost 90 percent and help with promotion.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 o’clock in the Council Chambers.
