PG Sports—Thursday, Sept 18

The Prince George Cougars have 27 players on their roster as they gear up to start their WHL regular season. The Cougars play Saturday in Portland and Sunday in Tri-City before their home openers against Kelowna Sept 26 & 27. All 72 Cougars games will be aired on the Goat 94.3

–The Prince George Spruce Kings begin their BCHL regular season with a pair of games this weekend at the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack. The Spruce Kings meet Nanaimo Saturday and Alberni Valley Sunday. The Spruce Kings home opener goes Oct 3 against Chilliwack.

–The Spruce Kings roster sits at 22 (two goalies, six defencemen & 14 forwards). 6 of the 22 from PG.

–The Major Midget Cariboo Cougars open their BCMML regular season at home against the Valley West Hawks Saturday (3pm) and Sunday (11:15am) at Kin 1.

–The UNBC Timberwolves will play Canada West soccer games Friday and Saturday at Fraser Valley. The Timberwolves host Victoria September 27th and 28th at noon and 2:15pm. The UNBC men are 1-3 while the Lady Timberwolves are 0-2-2.

BCGEU reaches tentative deal with Province after eight weeks of job action

It was a tight, physical game right until the end, but the Prince George Cougars dropped a 4-3 decision to the Seattle Thunderbirds."We got chasing the game a little bit but we got back in it, it was a hard fought game by both teams," said Cougars Head Coach and GM Mark Lamb on the post-game show on 94.3 the Goat.
