Around 400 international students were invited to the city this afternoon. Students from all around the world are attending classes at UNBC, CNC and local high schools. Grade 11 student Lara Terhardt from Germany says she’s attending high school in PG to learn about a different culture.
“I always wanted to go abroad, especially like in the high school times, living with a family and going to school” says Terhardt, “and be apart of the community and all, so I wanted to do it now and not after school.”
Terhardt says while she’s happy high school will be back in session, it was nice to have extra time to explore the city. She says hockey is one thing she wants to try while in Canada.
