The annual event saw several community members take part in the race, including Mayor Lyn Hall, local MLA Shirley Bond, and MP Todd Doherty.
The Canadian icon also has an interesting connection to the Northern capital.
“He actually came up here for the 1979 Labour Day Classic and when he completed that half-marathon, it gave him the confidence to go ahead and start the Marathon of Hope the next year.”
