Open burning to be allowed in Prince George Fire Centre

The BC Wildfire Service has decided to officially lift all burning bans in the Prince George Fire Centre.

Starting at 12PM Noon on Wednesday, open burning will be allowed, which includes:

  • Burn barrels or cages
  • Sky lanterns
  • Binary exploding targets
  • Air curtain burners
  • Fireworks

The public is being advised to use caution with any form of outdoor burning, and anything larger than two metres high by three metres wide will still need to obtain a burn registration number.

On Friday, the province-wide state of emergency was removed as the wildfire crisis has calmed down due to cooler temperatures and recent rainfall.

The Prince George Fire Centre campfire ban was also lifted nearly two weeks ago.
