RCMP ticket 10 distracted drivers over weekend

On Sunday, local and regional RCMP were out in the community looking for distracted drivers.

At two undisclosed locations within Prince George, police saw 40 drivers using their cellphones behind the wheel, and five people not wearing a seatbelt out of more than 2,200 vehicles.

The North District Traffic Services, several Prince George Mounties, and seven RCMP volunteers handed out a total of 10 tickets.

Police are reminding everyone to leave the phone alone when out on the road as 78 people are killed in related incidents every year according to ICBC.

Prince George RCMP make quick work of catching robbery suspect

A robbery suspect didn't make it far before getting caught by the Prince George RCMP. In the very early morning hours today (Monday), the RCMP were advised a convenience store on the corner of Fifth and Ospika Boulevard had been robbed by a single suspect.
