The deadliest shooting in modern US history occurred Sunday night in Las Vegas

The deadliest shooting in modern US history occurred Sunday night in Las Vegas.

A 64-year-old man opened fire from the Mandalay Bay Hotel towards a crowd of 30,000 people at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival.

A Northern BC couple was among those caught in the middle of the situation.

“Once we were under the bleachers we laid on our bellies and we just sat there listening to the guns shoot off; it just seemed like forever. We were scared for our lives, all we could think of is get down and hope for the best.”

Kevin Christieson, Witness

Nearly 60 people are confirmed dead and more than 500 people are injured.
