Mounties have arrested a Prince George man in connection to kidnap, sexual assault case in the Foothills area

Mounties have arrested a Prince George man in connection to a kidnap and sexual assault case in the Foothills area on September 3rd.

RCMP say these cases don’t happen very often, especially if the parties involved don’t know each other.

“People should feel safe as these are relatively rare incidents, but at the same time, you have to take normal precautions, especially in the early morning hours and, unfortunately, particularly if you’re female and being alone in the night.”

Inspector Shaun Wright, Prince George RCMP

Police say a woman was offered a ride home by the suspect after getting a flat tire, and taken to a Heritage parking lot where he assaulted her.

Mounties are also investigating to see if there’s a link to similar incidents in the city.
