The PG Hospice Society receives $6,000 Donation

The Prince George Hospice Centre received a generous donation from the Western Financial Group.

A cheque for over $6,000 was presented to the society today.

Executive Director of the Hospice Donna Flood says the money will help with continuing their care.

“The Hospice really needs to raise $1.3 million a year to continue to provide our service, so when company’s go and have these fund days and donate to us it certainly makes it a lot easier.”

Back in June the Western Financial Group in PG held its annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament which raised the largest amount of money its ever seen.

Account executive for the Western Financial Group, Paul Vezina, says they switched up the activities for this years tournament.

“The last golf tournament generated about $4,500. This year we had auctions, we had lots of gifts from the insurance company and so on and so forth, and a good putting contest as well.”

Vezina added he hopes the money raised at the Annual Golf Tournament will continue to rise, hopefully going over the four digit mark.
