Wheels in motion on possible outdoor tobacco bylaw

City administration will be starting work on a new anti-smoking bylaw. At last night’s council meeting, councillors directed administration to establish an enhanced outdoor tobacco bylaw. Councillor Murry Krause says the bylaw will focus on health safety.

“Its going to be specific to Prince George,” says Krause, “it will be about how we do health protection, and I’ve involved in these discussions in the community for quite some time, and so I have some experience about what this might mean to the community.”

Krause says they plan on looking at what other communities have implemented for tobacco bylaws. He says community consultations will occur once the bylaw has been drafted.
