How people drop off their recycling will change starting tomorrow. The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George are removing five bins in the city because Multi-Materials BC has started with curbside recycling. Waste Diversion Program Leader Rachael Ryder says there are still places to take your recycling.
“So we still have drop depot bins at the Quinn Street recycling depot on 18th and Quinn,” says Ryder, “the Vanway Transfer Station up in College Heights as well you can take your recycling to the Foothills Landfill on the Hart.”
Ryder says there are now two sections on the bins, one for mixed paper, the other for food cans and plastics. Rider says having the bins out in the rural parts of the city allows residents the chance to recycle their materials.
