Local flights to Calgary set to return next spring thanks to new WestJet service

For the first time since January of 2016, nonstop flights to Calgary are being brought back by the Prince George Airport.

The service will begin on March 14, 2018, and will take place on a new 34-seat aircraft.

“This service will be provided by WestJet Link, which is a new regional service,” says Robin Smith, YXS Executive Assistant.

Demand for flight has been off the charts Smith says.

“Calgary is our number one unserved market requested by the Prince George area, we are really glad to have Calgary back.”

Passengers can get a head start on book their flight’s thanks to a special promotion.

“If you book before December 4th, any one-way fairs from Prince George to Calgary between the dates of March 14h and June 27th are as low as $124, so some really good deals for our passengers,” added Smith.

Anyone who flies into Calgary from YXS can also take advantage of the same service to places like Lethbridge, Cranbrook, Lloydminster and Medicine Hat.

The new service is operating under a capacity purchase agreement with the Pacific Coastal Airlines.
