Buy Local week underway in BC

For the sixth year, a BC initiative will look to focus on the local business across the province.

Buy Local week is a way for people to not only become more aware of local businesses but support the local products they make.

“It enhances and helps to promote it locally,” says Prince George Farmers Market Association President Phil Myatovic.

“It helps the local economy and sustainability as well.”

Myatovic says he hopes to see the support become a year-round thing.

“I’m hoping the government will push Buy Local on a constant basis, not just one week and forget about it,” Myatovic says.

“This will help to make awareness.”

Participating businesses will be promoting their local products with pink stickers.
