Fortis BC crews members, local emergency services, and BC Hydro have fixed a gas leak near the Prince George Public Library.
Around 11:30AM, first responders received a report of a gas leak and closed off Canada Games Plaza as a result.
Deputy Fire Chief Cliff Warner says the Library was evacuated as a precaution.

Spokesperson Diana Sorace says the damage was caused by a third party contractor working on the nearby Mariott hotel.
“The repairs were able to be completed within an hour or so once we were able to make the repairs,” explains Sorace.
“Gas was brought under control at 12:34pm and repairs started soon after that.”
There are no long-term effects of the gas leak and construction will resume as normal.
Traffic in the area was originally blocked off but has since been restored.
The natural gas service line damage in #CityofPG @pg_library has been repaired and there are no further impacts. Thanks to everyone for their patience as we worked to quickly and safely resolve the issue.
