Door shuts on Cowboy Ranch expansion application

An application to expand the Cowboy Ranch got the thumbs down from Prince George City Council last night. Councillors decided not to allow the owner to have a total of 268 seats in the pub on Queensway. They said the reasons for the turn down is the size of the expansion and concerns they heard from residents about the noise it would create. Owner Brock Gable says that issue did come up during his consultation process.

“I talked to the neighbourhood in great detail and most of the neighbourhood I would say 75-80 percent was in support,” says Gable, “so noise complaints have not been an issue, we haven’t had any RCMP complaints, we had one very small noise complaint, so really no I don’t think it was an issue.”

Gable says he respects council’s decision and plans on resubmitting his application in the future.
