Liberals Unhappy With The Government Banning Grizzly Hunting

The BC Liberals are responding to the NDP’s decision to end grizzly bear hunting in BC.

In a joint statement Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad and Kamloops- North Thompson Peter Milobar said “Instead of allowing a grizzly hunt to be conducted in a fashion that balances values, the government abandoned those across the province who rely on hunting to feed their families.”

Rustad says the NDP is moving away from scientific -based decisions.

“The decision to change how we will manage grizzly bears based on politics is quite frankly unexceptionable, it’s dangerous, there are other species that we need to make sure we are making decisions based on science. So it’s discerning to see the NDP move away from that.”

The decision might have been due to the fact different groups are unhappy about the NDP’s choice to move forward with the site c dam.
