Helpful Tips If You Want To Lose Weight In The New Year

We’re a few days away from hearing the ‘New Year, New Me’ expression.

Most people will be looking at trying to cut down the pounds for their new years resolution.

Manager for the Y Shannon Johnson says people looking to lose weight seem to forget one key factor.

“You have to focus on what you eat as well as exercise and it’s really important to make healthy choices. So a good variety of food, keeping it interesting so that you’ll want to maintain that diet and to try and choice things that aren’t processed.”

Raw vegetables , fruit, and lean protein are all things you can feed yourself to help maintain a healthy diet.

there are little things you can do to slowly work on your goal.

“Walking the stairs at your workplace or in your home, walking outside when it warms up, and also playing outside with your family. Playing ball or playing with your dog.”

Johnson added in January they see an influx of people coming to the gym and that there is staff on hand to help with what you want to accomplish.
