Two New Players Added To Cougars Blue-Line

The Prince George Cougars have two new players on their team.

The Cougars acquired defencemen Rhett Rhinehart and Austin Crossley and a first-round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft from the Prince Albert Raiders.

This was in exchange for the Cougars forward Kody McDonald and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2018.

Rhinehart was a 13th overall pick in 2016 and in 31 games had an assist and 16 penalty minutes.

The 6’3, right-shot defenceman, played last season at the Yale Hockey Academy at the Midget Prep, level in Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL), and led all defencemen in the league in scoring, with 30 points (9-21-30) in 25 games.

Crossley, A Fort St. John native, was signed back in November 2016 to the Raiders and was able to pick up a goal and assist in 30 games while with them.

McDonald has spent his entire four-year WHL career in Prince George playing in 232 career regular season games, scoring 60 goals and racking up 126 points, to go along with 369 penalty-minutes.

The Cougars Play against the Tri-City Americans again tonight at the CN Centre.
