Northern Health assists with seasonal goals

A few health tips have been provided by Northern Health to assist area residents during the holidays.

Becoming more physically active is one of them and Spokesperson Jonathan Dyck says we have no shortage of activities during this time.

“They can vary from a brisk walk to a swim or a day skiing. As we move into the holiday season toward 2016 it is a good opportunity to consider your physical activity levels and these tips will steer you in the right direction.”

Dyck adds one thing could make all the difference when trying to maintain your goals.

“Finding someone to share your physical activity goals is one of the best motivators in staying active. Find someone who will go walking with you or a new exercise and make a plan to socialize with friends or family and it won’t seem like exercise.”

Losing weight and quitting smoking are two of the other goals people set during Christmas and New Year’s.
