Douglas fir beetle open house to be held in PG

The douglas fir bark beetle is seeing a higher-than-expected population in the Prince George area.

That’s why staff from the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, the City of Prince George, and Industrial Forestry Service Ltd. will host an information session later this month regarding the issue.

Available staff will be able to answer questions regarding the elevated population of the beetle.

The pest can infest and kill douglas fir trees which is the reason for the concern.

The open house will be on February 22nd from 6:30pm-8:00pm at Edgewood Elementary School.
