Coquilam forces Spruce Kings to take Express lane out of town

It was a bumpy road trip for the Prince George Spruce Kings despite wrapping up their first Mainland Division title.

The visitors fell 3-1 to the lowly Coquitlam Express, a mere 24 hours after falling 5-3 to the Surrey Eagles.

Coquitlam carried a 2-0 advantage after two periods thanks to a pair of goals from Haydn Delorme and Josh Wildauer.

The Spruce Kings cut the deficit in half courtesy of Kyle Johnson who slipped one past Express goaltender Brock Hamm.

Christian Sanda iced the contest for Coquitlam later in the period with an empty-netter after Prince George goaltender Bradley Cooper was summoned to the bench.

Both teams went a combined oh-for-nine on the power-play.

The Spruce Kings conclude the regular season with three more roads games; Friday and Saturday against the
Chilliwack Chiefs and Sunday (the 25th) vs. the Langley Rivermen.
