Canada-European Economic Trade Agreement Forum coming to Prince George

Is your local business wanting to go international?

If so, you might be in luck.

The City of Prince George along with Global Affairs Canada is hosting the European Union Export Business Forum on Monday at the Ramada Hotel.

This is a huge opportunity for the northern capital according to Spokesperson Melissa Barcellos.

“We want to make a good impression on the federal government and get as many businesses participating as possible so that they can continue to support Prince George and the businesses that are located here or in the Cariboo region.”

“There is also an opportunity for those businesses to meet one-on-one with trade and investment representatives and talk about opportunities for their companies these trade and investment representatives are recognizing Prince George’s as a key within the province for trade to Europe.”

Prince George is one of two BC stops with the other being Kelowna.

The event will feature presentations on the Canadian-European Union Economic and Trade Agreement and market opportunities within the European Union.

Barcellos explains why the province’s northern capital was named for this event.

“One of the reasons they picked Prince George was because of our key transportation corridors Highway 16 and 97, access to the rail and the Port of Prince Rupert and the fact that a lot of our local firms are exporting.”
