Ahac makes BCHL All-Rookie team

The Prince George Spruce Kings were shut out on the BCHL first and second All-Star teams, but they had one player recognized in another category.

Defenceman Layton Ahac was voted to the All-Rookie team by the league’s play-by-play broadcasters.

Ahac, who turned 17 last month, notched 28 points (6G, 22A) in 57 regular season games.

The Spruce Kings host the Surrey Eagles Friday and Saturday in the first two games of the best of seven Mainland Division Final.

A couple of Surrey forwards, John Wesley and Ty Westgard, were chosen to the BCHL Second All-Star team.
