Prince George Mounties are reminding businesses to double-check any money bills given by a customer.
According to police, several reports have come in about counterfeit cash used at local retailers.
Investigations believes two men between the ages of 20 and 30, entered a business and purchased several items, including gift cards, using bank notes forged to look like real ones.
Mounties explain the bills were made using cut out clear windows from real $10 bills, the clear tape sued to secure the clear window leaves a raised edge, which is noticeable by feeling it.
RCMP explain fake $100 Canadian bills are of main concern, but also to watch for American currency that has passed across the counter.
Anyone with information on counterfeit bills, or businesses who are unsure, are asked to call the Prince George RCMP at (250) 561-3300, or Crime-Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
