Ex-PG Cougars forward succumbs to cancer at the tender age of 26

Former Prince George Cougars Captain Brock Hirsche has lost his battle with testicular cancer.

He was 26.

Hirsche played 161 regular season games over four seasons with the Cougars from 2009-10 to 2012-13.

His career with the team was cut short due to a shoulder injury, however, he remained with the Cougars in his final year of junior hockey as an assistant coach.

Hirsche went on to play Canada West hockey in his hometown of Lethbridge (2013-14 to 2015-16) and was named Captain for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns.

He was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2015.
