It’s that time of year once again for School District 57’s (SD57) board of trustees.
Tonight’s monthly public board meeting, the first since returning from spring break, will be discussing expense allowances, which could see a slight increase for all positions.
If approved, the board chair would be allotted $21,200, the vice-chair would receive $19,700, and each trustee would be awarded $18,200 for the calendar year.
This would cover all needed costs, such as travelling within the region and to Victoria for provincial meetings.
SD57 will also continue its discussions on school catchment expansion in Prince George.
As its five-year facility grant starts this year, which includes the completion of a new Kelly Road Secondary School by 2020, trustees will look to decide remapping certain residential areas for kids to apply for specific institutions by September 2019.
The board will convene tonight at its Ferry Avenue office starting at 7PM.
