“Every single one of us runs into a barrier of some kind and it’s how we react to those barriers on the days when everything isn’t going well that helps us become the people we want to be.”

“One of the things I talk about is the sound of the crowd when I was racing. Whether it was at the Paralymics, Olympics or World Championships and how that sound was a sound of celebration and a sound of these moments that happen at the Olympics,” added Adams.

“Those sounds also happen on a daily basis when we provide people with access to infrastructure, programs or resources that could change their lives.”

Adams talked about Prince George hosting an event like the World Para Nordic Championships and what it means for people with disabilities.

“Peoples attitudes are going to change. They are going to be exposed to things they never were before. People are going to come here and be exposed to the amazing things that happen in Prince George and vice versa. That sharing of experience is one of the most important things we can do as a society.”

He added sports can be a motivator for people with disabilities because they can transfer those lessons learned in the game and use them to meet other life goals.

The event starts at 7pm and runs until 830pm.

Tickets can be found here.
