Nearly 60 students across School District 57 put their projects on display at the annual Heritage Fair last night.
Ten different schools took part in the event at the civic centre, presenting projects ranging from family heritage, immigration to Canada and local history.

12-year old Amy Larson decided to choose a project on a topic she was familiar with.
“I do like to sing and play piano. I was thinking for my heritage project I wanted to do history of music, but that’s really broad and can’t really narrow that down to a heritage fair project. I was also thinking about therapy and wondered if music therapy is an actual thing.”
Larson is hoping to become a music therapist and is thinking about attending Capilano University in the future.
“I interviews Nancy McMaster she is the co-founder of music therapy in BC and Canada. It’s also the closest one too home.”
Larson was one of several who won a gold medal for their project along with two other awards.
Up to three students will be chosen from the event to attend the BC Provincial Heritage Fair in Squamish in July.
