Public gathers at official opening of the Farmers Markets new location downtown

The Prince George Farmers Market officially has a new home.

A ribbon cutting ceremony took place today to kick off the new location of the market, with hundreds of people coming out to see the variety of booths set up.

Vendor Myrna Colley is new to the market this year and can already see the difference.

“I’ve noticed there is more traffic. Wider ally, which is a great thing because over at the old one it was pretty tight. It’s nice and roomy.”

The new location will hopefully attract more people to the market says Phil Myatovic, PG Farmers Market President.

“The new location is a lot more centralized as we’re right up the street from where we were near Queensway and it’s more accessible as we have more parking here with a lot so we can get more people to the market.”

The Farmers Market is now located at 3rd Avenue and Quebec Street and will be open every Saturday year round.
