Swift Current Broncos  4  Everett Silvertips  3    OT  (Saturday)

Best-of -seven Ed Chynoweth Cup championship series tied 1-1.

Broncos erased a 3-0 deficit after one period.

First road loss in the playoffs for the Silvertips (8-1).

Series shifts to Everett for Game three on Tuesday.

The winner advances to the Memorial Cup this month in Regina.

(Brett Connolly of Prince George scored his second goal of the playoffs for Washington. The Capitals are ahead 3-2 in the Eastern Conference semi-final with game six Monday (4PM) in Pittsburgh)

 

The two other NHL Conference semis resume today: Boston at Tampa (Noon) and Vegas at San Jose (4:30).

The Lightning lead the Bruins 3-1 while the Golden Knights are ahead of the Sharks 3-2)

 

DOYLE CUP JUNIOR HOCKEY:

Wenatchee Wild  7  Spruce Grove Saints  2  (Friday)

Wenatchee wins the best-of-seven series 4-1 to advance to the RBC National Junior ‘A’ Championship starting Friday in Chilliwack.

The Wild’s first game of the tournament will be Saturday against the host Chilliwack Chiefs.

This week Chilliwack fired head coach Jason Tatarnic and replaced him with assistant Brian Maloney.

Community reads Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action

The 94 Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada were heard throughout Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park today (Tuesday) as part of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Ceremony. The idea to have members of the community read for the ceremony was put forward by Jim Lambert, a Sixties Scoop survivor and the Prince George Urban Indigenous Coalition Coordinator. 

CN Centre celebrates 30 years

It was a Sunday fun day at the CN Centre as the City celebrated the arena's 30th anniversary. Plenty of residents got onto the ice at the arena for a free public skate, that went along with food, drinks, and cake.
