Applications for TEDxUNBC 2018 officially open

What’s your vision for Canada’s next 150 years?

That’s the topic for the second TEDxUNBC speakers series called “Destination Futures”

The organization is looking for residents to share their insight and expertise on topics such as indigenous relations or future medical advancements.

“I think it will speak to younger people, because obviously they want to look into the future,” says Executive Produce for TEDx Grant Bachand.

But, Bachand added this series won’t just be for the younger generation.

“If you are a doctor who has been doing lots of great research you’re going to want to say, in the next 150 years this cell that I found in the body is going to change how we look at X Y and Z. So, I don’t think this is just about young people I think it will span the gamma of a lot of individuals.”

Last years TEDxUNBC saw over 100 applications submitted and, as of today, the talks have generated more than 13,000 views online.

TEDxUNBC is accepting applications today until June 9th and can be found here. From those who submit an application, a panel will select five people from the community and another five who are connected to UNBC.

“Destination Futures”, which will take place at the Canfor Theatre September 29th.
