Bad weather didn’t stop people from taking part in Charity Car Wash

Despite weather conditions, the Prince George RCMP, BC Sheriffs Service and Prince George Fire/ Rescue were able to raise nearly $850 to support the upcoming Torch Run to support Special Olympics BC.

The second annual car wash took place on Saturday, were members took part in washing cars and selling 50/50 raffle tickets at Canadian Tire on Domano Boulevard in Prince George.

This was down significantly from last year, when they were able to generate $2,000, but considering the conditions against them it was a successful year says RCMP spokesperson Craig Douglas.

“We are very happy with the results of the car wash considering the weather. Thanks to those members of the public that took the time and contributed to this worthwhile cause. We want to also thank the management and staff of Canadian Tire for donating supplies and their parking lot to this event.”

The Law Enforcement Torch Run will take place June 7th at 4pm at the Prince George RCMP detachment.
