NHL:

Evgeny Kuznetsov took part in the Washington Capitals practice on Friday.

He will be a game-time decision for tonight’s third game of the Stanley Cup Final.

The Capitals have listed the leading scorer in the playoffs as “day-to-day” with an “upper-body” injury.

Washington and the Vegas Golden Knights are tied at a game each.

The Golden Knights are 6-2 on the road and the Capitals sit 4-5 at home in the playoffs.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars are the last WHL team without a general manager after the Kamloops Blazers named Matt Bardsley as their new GM.

Bardsley had been the Portland Winterhawks assistant general manager.

The PG Cougars have announced they’ve extended their partnership with 94.3 the GOAT and Vista Radio as the team’s exclusive broadcaster partner for the 2018-2019 season.

Every Cougars’ home and away game will be broadcast on 94.3 The GOAT, starting September 21st when the team begins the 2018-2019 WHL season.

 

NBA:

Game two in the NBA Finals will tip off Sunday night just after 5 in Oakland.

The Golden State Warriors enjoy a 1-0 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Max Schonewille of Duchess Park earned a bronze medal in the senior boys hammer throw at the Provincial high school track and field championships in Langley.

Bazil Spencer of Correlieu (in Quesnel) captured silver in the senior boys high jump.

Both Schonewille and Spencer are members of the Prince George Track and Field Club.
