Four Rivers Co-op hold grand opening of Gas Bar

The official grand opening of the new Westgate Gas Bar kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today.

The store was originally opened to the public in February but due to weather, the ceremony was held off.

This is the first retail venture for the Four Rivers Co-op in Prince George.

“We had the internal funds and cash flow to do this ourselves,” says Allan Bieganski, General Manager of Four Rivers. “We invested over 8 million in this project between buying the land and developing it without any long-term debt.”

“We thought this was a strong need for us. We have two cardlocks in Prince George for a while now, but we haven’t had a chance to have a retail presence to serve the consumer market. We are very excited to enter our first retail venture in Prince George,” added Bieganski.

The new facility will employ around 20 to 30 people.
