Local motocross racer happy to be back on stomping grounds

Prince George native Jess Pettis is back in his hometown to rip up the Blackwater Motocross Track.

Some of the best North American motocross racers are taking part in the Triple Crown series this weekend.

Pettis says it feels good to be back where it all started.

“We got a nine weekend series here for the whole Triple Crown series that goes across Canada. To be here in my hometown fifteen minutes from my house is nice. It feels good to sleep in my own bed.”

He added Prince George is well known for its outdoor activities and he hopes this will add to that.

Pettis is on top of the leaderboard in the motocross 250 category with 118 points. He also ranks fourth in the 250 Triple Crown standings with 181 points.

PG is holding round 3 of the Rockstar Energy MX tour until 5pm tomorrow.
