The Bucket List Gala fundraiser for the Prince George Hospice Society is coming back this fall with a special guest.
Netflix star of The Kindness Diaries, Leon Logothetis, will be there.
“He lives and breathes this. This is what he does, he travels the world bringing kindness to others and it just resonates with what hospice is all about and how Prince George is working towards itself by being that community of compassion and kindness,” says PG Hospice Society Executive Director Donna Flood of the guest speaker.
Tickets require the buyer to put in three bucket list goals. One goes under the lowest level where it is within reach, the middle level is difficult but not out of reach, and the highest level is reserved for lofty dreams. Last year’s winner chose a trip to St. Lucia.
“It’s life-altering,” Flood explains, remembering one particular case following the 2017 event.
“I had one fella come up to me and say ‘I’m stopping what I’m doing and I’m addressing my bucket list’ and he spent the last year ticking things off his bucket list, including things as simple as going on picnics with his kids.”
Last year’s gala raised over $30,000.
This year’s gala is on September 22nd.
