WATCH: PG hockey product joining Chicago Blackhawks after seven years in Philadelphia

WATCH:

Prince George defenceman Brandon Manning is moving to the windy city, signing a two-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The 28-year-old spent seven years with the Philadelphia Flyers, scoring an NHL career-high 19 points (7G, 12A) in 65 games last season.

“They’re looking for someone to bring a physical game and a strong defensive presence. I think I’ve proven I can do that and chip in occasionally offensively. I’ve always taken pride in my defence and my competitive level and that’s something they’re looking forward to me bringing.”

Manning’s deal with Chicago is $2 million per season, plus a signing bonus for a cap hit of $2.25 million.
