The driver of the tractor-trailer that hit a bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team three months ago is facing several charges.

Saskatchewan RCMP have charged the 29-year-old with 16 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and 13 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

Sixteen team members, including 10 players, died in the crash on a Saskatchewan highway on April 6th, while thirteen others were hurt.

He is scheduled to appear in Saskatchewan court next week.

Families were notified of the charges before police addressed the public at a conference earlier today.

Several memorials were held shortly after the incident, including one outside the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA) in Prince George.

More than $15 million was raised through a GoFundMe page set up for the families of those who lost their lives.
