Volunteer Prince George is celebrating a successful year.
During Canada’s 150th birthday, a challenge was created across the nation called Canada 150 for 150 volunteers.
Prince George was able to place 2nd in B.C. and 5th overall in Canada. Most competitors in the competition had a larger population than the Northern Capital.
Volunteer PG also highlighted their response to the wildfires where they registered over 380 people the first day.
overall, the organization registered 2267 volunteers who logged over 19,000 hours.
The organization is holding a volunteer appreciation event this fall.
