Police investigating suspicious incident near Massey Skate Park

The RCMP are investigating a suspicious incident where a man picked up a teenage girl in a grey van.

Just before 1:30PM today, officers received a report of the incident near the skate park on Massey Drive, where witnesses say they observed a man stop the van in the turn lane at the intersection of Massey and Carney and pick the girl up.

Witnesses believe she may have been in distress and phoned police.

The van was last seen headed northbound on Carney towards 15th Avenue.

The man is described as:

  • 50 years old
  • 5’10”
  • Grey hair
  • Scruffy facial hair

He was seen wearing a grey shirt with ripped jeans and driving an older model grey mini-van.

The girl is described as:

  • 12-14 years old
  • 5’2″
  • Wearing a checkered tank top
  • Having short brown hair with blue streaks in it
