Cougars claw past the Royals

The Prince George Cougars won their second pre-season game in Langley in as many days.

The Cougars followed up Saturday’s 7-3 victory over the Vancouver Giants with a 3-2 triumph over the Victoria Royals Sunday afternoon.

Josh Maser scored the winner against the Royals midway through the 2nd period.

Ryan Schoettler, with a goal and an assist, and Kjell Kjemhus also tallied for the Cats.

Isaiah DiLaura made 26 saves to pick up the victory.

Prince George outshot Victoria 29-28.

The Royals went just 1/8 on the power play while P.G. was 1/2.

The Cougars, 3-1 in the pre-season, play their final exhibition game on Saturday at CN Centre against the visiting Kamloops Blazers.

Prince George will start its regular season in Victoria on Friday, September 21st.

The Cougars home opener goes September 28th against Kelowna.
