WATCH: After a decade of delays, Pineview’s Recreation Centre is now fully renovated

WATCH:

Pineview residents are celebrating a community milestone after more than 10 years of delays.

The community’s Recreation Centre is now fully renovated after the previous building was destroyed by a major fire.

“Funding is the big answer, as well as the will for somebody that would actually do it. We’ve expanded quite a lot in the last few years, and it’s huge to the community. From funerals to dances, parties to weddings, everything happens in this building.”

– Jeff Vandooyeweert, Rec Centre Vice-Chair

The $275,000 project comes complete with new offices, big storage spaces, & a wheelchair accessible bathroom.

The funding was provided by the RDFFG & Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT).
