Six people safe following carport fire in the VLA

No injuries were reported following a blaze this morning in the VLA.

Before 5AM, Prince George fire crews from three different halls responded to an incident on the 2100 block of Tamarack Street involving a carport, two vehicles, and a nearby residence set a blaze.

All six people inside the single-family dwelling at the time of the fire made it out safely and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly.

The fire’s result is $250,000 worth of damage, plus an extra $10,000 on the neighbouring house.

Crews are investigating the cause of the incident.
